The Swiss Institute of Integrative Biology found that planting one trillion trees could help stop climate change by reducing the amount of carbon in the atmosphere. However, this isn’t as easy as it sounds. One trillion trees would take up between five and ten billion acres of land. That is at least double the size of the United States. Many experts recommend that, while planting trees is a great idea, the most realistic way to stop climate change is to stop using carbon-releasing fossil fuels in the first place.
