Girls Garage was founded by Emily Pilloton. The program encourages girls ages 9-17 to develop STEM careers. Melinda Gates, co-founder of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, is helping through a donation to Girls Garage. Students can learn carpentry, welding, architecture, and screen printing. They also learn to be strong and confident. Pilloton and Gates want girls to follow their passion. Even if it’s not a traditional female job.
